      Ben Spill is a professional motocross rider with over 25 years of experience. He is a 3-time UK MX Champion and a 5-time Vietnam Enduro Champion. Ben brings his passion and expertise to Dirt Bike Academy, teaching riders how to ride faster, smarter, and safer.
    • Where is Dirt Bike Academy located?

      We are conveniently located right next to Tây Hồ, on an island in the heart of Hanoi. Despite being in the city, our track provides a unique atmosphere that feels like an escape to the countryside.

    • How do I book an off-road lesson or an off-road tour?

      Absolutely! We welcome riders of all skill levels, including complete beginners. Our WR 155 bikes are perfect for learning, and our lessons are tailored to your experience, ensuring you learn at a comfortable pace. Contact us!

    • What languages are the lessons conducted in?

      Lessons are conducted in English. I am from my England so there are no language barriers if you are a tourist. However if your are local to Vietnam - we can provide a trainer who speaks Vietnamese.

      Please let us know if you have any language concerns, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

    • What types of lessons do you offer?

      We offer:

      • Private Lessons: 1-on-1 coaching tailored to your skill level.
      • Group Sessions: Learn alongside other riders in a supportive environment.
      • Off-Road Day Tours: Explore Northern Vietnam’s landscapes on guided tours.
    • How many riders are there in a group session?

      Group sizes vary:

      • Beginner Groups: Typically up to 5 riders.
      • Intermediate/Expert Groups: May vary based on demand.

      We keep group sizes small to ensure personalized attention.

    • How far in advance should I book?

      We recommend booking at least one week in advance, especially during peak seasons, to secure your preferred date and time.

    • Can I book a custom tour or lesson package?

      Yes, we can tailor lessons or tours to meet your specific needs. Contact us to discuss custom options.

    • Do you offer corporate or team-building events?

    • Do you provide equipment, or do I need to bring my own?

      Yes, we provide top-quality bikes and protective gear through our partnership with Tigit Motorbikes. We offer:

      • Bikes: XR 150 bikes suitable for riders of all skill levels. If you have a lot of off-roading experience, you can try our performance motorbike—the KTM 85cc.
      • Protective Gear: Helmets, knee pads, boots, gloves, and other necessary equipment.

      You are also welcome to bring your own gear if you prefer.

    • Can I bring my own bike and gear?

      Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own equipment. Please ensure your bike is suitable for our tracks and meets safety standards.

    • What type of bikes do you use?

      We use WR 150 bikes provided through our partnership with Tigit Motorbikes. These bikes are versatile and suitable for both beginners and experienced riders.

      For those with significant off-roading experience seeking a high-performance option, we also offer a KTM 85cc.

    • What should I wear and bring for my lesson or tour?

      Clothing: Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.

      • Footwear: Sturdy boots are recommended if you’re bringing your own.
      • Sunscreen and Water: We provide water, but it’s a good idea to bring extra and apply sunscreen.
    • Are there any additional costs I should be aware of?

      Great news... there are no additional costs! The only extra costs you should plan for are:

      • Personal Expenses: Snacks, additional water, etc
      • Optional bike upgrade: If you have a lot of off-roading experience, you can try our performance motorbike—the KTM 85cc.
  • Safety & rider requirements

    • Do I need prior motorcycle experience?

      No prior experience is necessary. Our beginner lessons are designed to teach you everything from the ground up. The WR 155 bikes are beginner-friendly and easy to handle.

    • How safe is motocross riding?

      Motocross is an extreme sport, but safety is our top priority:

      • Protective Gear: We provide high-quality protective equipment.
      • Instruction: Lessons focus on safety fundamentals.
      • Supervision: All sessions are supervised by experienced professionals.
    • What happens in case of bad weather?

      Motocross is an all weather sport so we hold sessions in most conditions, but in case of very severe weather, we may postpone or reschedule sessions. We’ll contact you as soon as possible to make alternative arrangements.

    • Do I need a motorbike license that is valid in Vietnam?

      For an off-road lesson or tour you do not need a motorbike license.

    • What are the prices for lessons and tours?

      Private Lessons (2 hours):

      • Without equipment: 800k VND / $32
      • With equipment provided: 1.2M VND / $50
      • Group Sessions (2 hours, per person):
      • 2 riders: 700k VND
      • 3 riders: 600k VND
      • 4+ riders: 500k VND
      • Off-Road Day Tours (8 hours):
      • Per person: 3M VND
    • What payment methods do you accept?

      We accept:

      • Online payment via our booking portal
      • Cash (VND or USD)
      • Bank Transfers
    • What is your cancellation policy?

      • Cancellation: Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance for cancellations.
      • Rescheduling: We can reschedule your session if needed, subject to availability.
